Meet Our Doctors
Kevin L. Stewart, M.D.

Dr. Stewart was born in San Angelo, Texas and grew up in the Texas Panhandle. He attained Eagle Scout, the highest possible rank in scouting during his childhood, and played the keyboard in the jazz band at Amarillo High School, where he met his future wife, Victory Noblett.
His higher education included an Associate Degree in Biological Sciences at Amarillo College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology at the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated summa cum Laude et Magna. Dr. Stewart earned his medical degree at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas and completed his residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. He has done extensive study and training in performing venous procedures as well as in-depth study of Spanish, including an immersion study at the Instituto de Espanol at Puebla, Mexico.

After serving as a medical missionary at Nigerian Christian Hospital near Port Harcourt, Nigeria, Dr. Stewart began his medical practice at WJ Mangold Memorial Hospital in Lockney, Texas. He also subsequently worked at various emergency rooms in the Texas Panhandle and worked in the emergency room at Midland Memorial Hospital while simultaneously founding a vein practice in Plainview, Texas with his wife Victory.
He began performing procedures for vein related problems in 2006, and after working in the medical staff at Vein Clinics of America in Garland, Texas, Dr. Stewart settled in El Paso, Texas to work with Dr’s Thomas Pester and Felice Bruno and their world class staff at the Center for Venous Disease (now known as Vein Disease Care of El Paso). He has happily been performing vein related treatments and
procedures in El Paso since 2017.
Dr. Stewart is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the American College of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine while being doubly board certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine and the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Stewart is happily married to Victory, and they are the proud parents of two lovely ladies. He and his wife enjoy cycling, visiting their families, and traveling in their recreational vehicle.

FELICE L. BRUNO, MD, FICS

Dr. Bruno is a Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon who has been treating heart and lung disease and arterial and venous vascular problems in El Paso since 1978. He graduated cum laude from the Medical School of the University of Torino, Italy, and holds Diplomas of Specialist in both General Surgery and Cardiovascular Surgery from the Surgical Clinic of the University of Torino. After completing a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Surgery at the Texas Heart Institute, Dr. Bruno was invited by Dr. Denton A. Cooley to join The Texas Heart Institute medical staff in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Bruno practiced clinical surgery and participated in artificial heart research and cardiac transplantation. Following his Texas Heart Institute experience, he moved to El Paso as co-director of the El Paso Southwestern Cardiovascular Associates practice. Dr. Bruno is a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine. His membership affiliations include the American Medical Association and the D.A. Cooley Cardiovascular Surgical Society.
During his years of practice in El Paso, Dr. Bruno has been actively involved with Medical Staff affairs, holding many positions, from Chief of Staff to Cardiovascular Department Chairman, Member of the Board of Directors with Sierra Medical Center, Sierra Providence Health Network, and is a Past President of the El Paso American Heart Association. Dr. Bruno has also been a physician for the United States Ski Team and has traveled extensively with the World Cup Downhill team.
Currently, Dr. Bruno provides care at Vein Disease Care of El Paso, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of venous disorders.
Dr. Bruno has been a surgeon since 1968.
First in Torino Italy where, after graduating “Summa cum Laude” from the Torino University Medical School and completing his surgical training, he practiced surgery in two of the major city hospitals, while attending the Surgical Clinics of the University of Torino, where he obtained Board Certification in the Specialties of General Surgery and Cardiovascular Surgery.
In 1974 he began his work at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, Texas, under the direction and guidance of Dr. Denton Cooley. He practiced at the Texas Heart Institute till 1978: 2 years as Cardiovascular Surgical Fellow and 2 years as an Associate Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon with the D.A. Cooley Texas Surgical Associates. In that period he was active in performing a large number of adult and pediatric Cardiac surgeries, Thoracic and Vascular procedures, while doing laboratory research on partial artificial heart and implanting Cardiac Mechanical Support Devices, as Director of the Intensive Care Unit Cardiac Support program.

In 1978 he moved to El Paso to join the El Paso Southwestern Cardiovascular Surgical Associates practice as Associate Director. Practicing in all city Hospitals, over 32 years he performed close to 10,000 adult and pediatric cardiac surgeries, as well as thoracic and vascular procedures, with special interests in heart valves repair, heart remodeling procedures and surgical treatment of irregular heart beat, as well as pacemakers and defibrillators implants.
During his years of Cardiovascular Surgery practice in El Paso, Dr. Bruno actively participated in Medical Staff affairs, assuming roles of Chief of Staff at Sierra Hospital, Chairman of the Cardiovascular Surgery Department at Providence Memorial Hospital, Associate Professor of Surgery at the University Medical Center Medical School, President of the El Paso Heart Association and Member of the Governing Board of the Sierra/Providence Hospitals Complex.
In February 2010 he retired from Cardiovascular Surgery and started a practice for the treatment of vein diseases, in association with the already well established Dr. Tom Pester, under the label of Center for Venous Disease (now known as Vein Disease Care of El Paso). Together they expanded their practices, with growth of the West side Clinic and establishment of the East side Clinic, further developing a reputation for excellent, state of the art personal care, in a friendly, attentive and caring environment, with a devoted, experienced and highly professional staff. Since then Dr. Bruno has been consistently utilizing his over 50 years experience in surgical and medical care of Heart Disease, Arteries and Veins problems to expand and improve patients treatment.
Outside of the Medical world, Dr. Bruno has enjoyed car racing, horseback riding, skiing and traveling. Skiing was always his biggest passion. His love for skiing and competing brought him to become a Doctor for the U.S. Downhill Ski Team, traveling, over the years, with the team to multiple ski locations around the world to take part in team training sessions and World Cup Competitions from 1986 to 1999.
He has been married since 1977 to his wife Deborah, whom he met at the Texas Heart Institute, where she was an Instructor in the Institute School of Cardiopulmonary Perfusion, and together they have shared a full and well lived life.
Dr. and Mrs. Bruno have one daughter, Natalie, who is a Cardiovascular Anesthesiologist, living and practicing in Santa Fe, New Mexico
